Write for the task.
Make every choice count.

Build confidence in reading a writing task, choosing a suitable form and communicating clearly to the intended reader.

Online diagnostic submissions are coming soon.

Why focused practice matters

Go beyond “write more”.

Break a demanding writing task into choices a student can understand, practise and review.

01

Understand the task

Identify the purpose, audience and requested form before deciding what to write.

02

Adapt your approach

Practise different forms instead of relying on one memorised story or essay.

03

Leave room to check

Learn to review meaning, organisation and sentence choices as part of writing.

Your starting point

First, understand
the writing in front of you.

A useful diagnostic explains the score. Look at the dimensions, read the evidence from the draft, and identify a small number of priorities.

  • An overall practice score and dimension-level feedback.
  • Examples from the writing to explain the comments.
  • Suggested next practice and relevant course content.
  • A report to return to through the student account.
What useful feedback looks like · illustration
“The storm came. She ran to the lighthouse. The door was locked.”

A question to explore: Why does she choose the lighthouse, and what does the locked door change?

Connect the events through the character’s purpose. That gives the next sentence something useful to do.

When the feedback points to language

Work on a specific skill.

These shared courses can support either pathway when sentence control or word choice needs attention.

Questions parents ask

Before you begin.

Do we need a diagnostic before choosing a course?

You can explore courses and their lesson outlines directly. The diagnostic is a starting point when you want feedback to guide that choice.

Does the score predict an exam result?

The report provides an Ace practice assessment of this piece of writing. It is not an official exam mark or a guarantee of a future result.

Is the feedback provided by AI?

Writing feedback uses AI. Read each suggestion against the original task and the student’s intended meaning.

Are course lessons and assessment packs the same product?

No. A course includes its lessons and 10 full writing assessments. A separate five-assessment pack does not include course access.
